So, I’ve been thinking about how I want to organise my life and actually follow goals so decided to compile a list of ten goals I want to achieve in the next ten years, before I turn 30.

I think writing out goals as a life plan is a good idea for everyone, it helps you focus and realise what it is you want from life and when you want it by. We all get sidetracked, everyone has their own distractions, but having a plan is always good to refer back to. So, here is mine.
1- I want to maintain relationships with everyone I am close to.
Since turning 20, I have become a whole lot closer with my family, which admittedly I was not as close with them before. It’s a teen thing, I know. But, I love that I am so much closer with them now. Don’t get me wrong we still argue about the stupidest of things, but we’re closer than ever and as I get older, I realise exactly how important it is to maintain ties. Not just with family, but friendships and romantic relationships to. Pushing people who care about you away will only do more harm than good. I intend to grow closer with everyone and honestly just remind them that I love them.
2- I want to complete my degree
Now, this is something that worries me. I hated my first year of university. But, I also hated my first year of college. After switching what I did in college I was much happier, so I am hoping it will be the same in University. (I changed courses, read about why here!). I cannot wait till the day I wear my cap and gown and take pictures with my friends and family and be happy that I finally did what I’ve always wanted.
3- I want to grow this blog
I have fallen in love with blogging! It is so much fun! A lot of work, but I enjoy it so much. (Read about how I went self hosted here). I want to get to a point where I am receiving a steady income and viewers every month, and I know this will take me a very long time, but I am okay with that. Slow but steady wins the race, am I right?
4- I want to be happy and content with my life
This is something everyone wants right? Everyone wants to be happy? I know I do. There’s not much I can say about this. I’d just like to go to bed every night knowing i’m content with the way my life is going and am satisfied with what and who I have in my life, achieving what I want and reaching my personal goals.
5- I want to travel as much as I can before I get the responsibilities of a family
Again, something everyone says. Totally not trying to be cliche, but I do enjoy holidays very much. I try my best not to be touristy and actually experience the places I visit. Travelling is expensive though, and quite frankly, not something I can afford. The reason I added ‘before I get the responsibilities of a family’ is because I am someone who would want to invest a lot of time into a new family and would not consider travelling at that point in my life, and would focus on that new step.
6- Overcome mental health issues
This is something I am wary talking about, not the most comfortable topic for me! Mental health should not come with a stigma, but it’s not fun to deal with or talk about. I, like most people, do suffer from a few ‘disabilities’ and they put me in a bad state quite often. I want to be able to take control of my life and mind and handle these states better than I currently do. I want to improve and hopefully overcome them.
7- I want to learn self defense
Y’all heard about the acid attacks? The rapes? The theft? Yeah, well so have I! Day by day our society is sinking lower and lower, and crime rates rising. I want to be able to protect myself if something was to happen. I love going for walks at night, it’s my favourite time of day. Often I’ve found myself pretending to be on the phone as a sense of security when I see people around at 2am. I want to be confident in the fact that I can protect myself.
8- Save enough money to buy a house and pay for a wedding
Living in the UK at the moment pretty much means you’ll never be able to buy a house (if you have a average salary) and most likely a wedding will put you in debt. I really do not want that. I want a house to call my own. I want to be able to afford a wedding without a loan or without burdening family. I hate having debt, being a student means i’m always in one and sinking further is not something I want for my future self! I really struggle with saving so this would be such a big achievement for me.
9- Become a better person
I want to stop gossiping (we all do it, don’t judge!). I want to help people more. I want to be kinder to everyone, regardless of if I know them or not. I want to stop judging people before I get to know them (never judge a book by it’s cover, am I right?). Little things like these make such a big difference to your mentality, personality and happiness.
10- I want to learn how to horse ride
This is a bit random, but I always find horse riders quite admirable. I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride, but my parents were never fond of it and I never got round to taking classes. But it is something I want to do at least once, and if I like it (I reckon I would) then I would want to learn how to ride. It would be a personal accomplishment, one i’d be extremely proud of.
Lots of love,
