Primark Halloween 2017 : Maleficent

Halloween is around the corner, just over 2 weeks to go! Who’s excited? Today I have a Halloween costume and makeup look from a budget friendly store. Keep reading to find out my opinion on whether this look is worth buying.

In total, I spent less than £20 pounds on this costume, which seems pretty budget friendly to me. For this post I have become Maleficent. You know the evil witch from sleeping beauty, played by the amazing Angelina Jolie in the last couple of years? Yeah, her! Wish I looked as good as she does though! If you haven’t seen maleficent, you can get it on Amazon pretty cheap, or watch it on TV, odds are it’ll be playing often. It’s a popular Disney movie, and if you haven’t seen the new remake, you’re kinda missing out.

Price: £4.99

Review

Admittedly, I think I look stupid. The costume to me reminds me of a bin bag. A BIN BAG! I spent £15 on the costume, and honestly, it is so so not worth that price. The headpiece/headband came with the costume, completing the look, but it was quite heavy and just would not stay in place. Admittedly, I would not recommend anyone getting this particular outfit. (I wore black tights I already had at home to complete this look, which are also from Primark)

notice how I stupidly forgot to blend out one eye

Primark have quite a few adult Halloween costumes, from Minnie mouse to Tinkerbell, there’s quite a few different ones. I brought both Minnie mouse and Maleficent, but the Minnie costume just did not fit me, even though I purchased a size bigger than what should’ve fit me. The other costumes do look worth buying, but the maleficent one, Nah.

As for the makeup, I got the P.S Fright Club Foundation, which is supposed to give me a ghastly look. It was a cream foundation, and honestly, was really bad quality. It was come off when you touch it, and was most definitely not buildable. It looked patchy on my skin, which obviously was not the look I was going for. My makeup remover (read about my current favourite organic skincare line here) is amazing so I managed to get it all off, but it took around 3 rounds for a completely naked face!

It was fun to play around with the makeup and try out the look, but it’s not something I would recommend.

Have you got halloween planned out?

Lots of love,

I think it’s pretty good for a store bought costume! I love how you did the makeup too. Gorge. I’m going to be Snow White with a twist and my honey is going to be Prince Charming with a tee lol
